I’m a marketer by profession, but there’s a lot more to my life than campaigns, spreadsheets, media plans, and analytics. I’ve been married for 24 years, and my wife and I have a teenage son. A lot of my favorite time is simply family time, especially being in the stands watching my son play baseball or football. We also have three dogs, so our house is rarely quiet and probably wouldn’t feel right if it were.
When I’m not working, I enjoy being outdoors, watching a good movie or television series, and following sports. I’m a huge Michigan Wolverines fan, along with the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. Whether it’s college football on a Saturday, the Chiefs on Sunday, a Royals game, or one of my son’s games, sports have always been something I enjoy and something that brings people together.
Professionally, I’ve spent my career working across marketing, media, creative development, customer acquisition, analytics, and strategy. What I enjoy most is figuring things out: understanding the problem, looking at the information available, developing a plan, and then seeing what happens when that plan meets the real world. I like the strategic side of marketing, but I’ve never wanted to get so far removed from the work that I stop understanding how it actually gets done.

I’m also naturally curious and enjoy learning new things. That’s one reason this website exists. I originally started building it as a way to learn and experiment with HubSpot, but it also became an opportunity to bring together my professional experience, some of the work I’ve created, and a little more about the person behind the resume. I’ve been exploring AI, analytics, automation, and other evolving marketing tools in much the same way: by actually using them to solve problems rather than simply reading about them.
After more than two decades in marketing, I still like learning, creating, solving problems, and finding better ways to do things. At the same time, I’ve learned that work is only one part of a good life. Family, a little time outdoors, three dogs underfoot, and having a team to root for on the weekend matter quite a bit too.
